Edward-Elmhurst Health

It is our mission to advance the health of our communities.

Edward-Elmhurst Health Venture Capital (EEH VC) is the corporate venture arm of Edward-Elmhurst Health (EEH) and was founded in 2019 to invest in innovative solutions that advance EEH’s vision of transforming healthcare while diversifying its revenue base. Our $15M venture capital innovation fund focuses on Seed, and Series A rounds where we can partner with portfolio companies addressing current and future pain points in healthcare.

We exist to advance care and improve lives by driving health innovation forward.

Focus Areas

EEH VC invests in Digital Health, Healthcare IT (and tech-enabled services) and Healthcare Services companies with high growth potential, compelling unit economics and strong management teams. We do not currently invest in regulated devices, life sciences, biotech, or pharma.

Investment Focus

Our typical investment size is $50-500k, with follow-on capital reserved for future rounds. We may consider larger amounts via parent company co-investment. We invest in Seed, Late Seed, and Series A rounds and will consider Pre-Seed rounds in exceptional circumstances.

Geographic Focus

EEH VC invests opportunistically across the entire US. We do not currently invest in non-US based companies.

How We Partner

Our team, advisors and committees consist of seasoned operators and industry experts. We add value to our portfolio companies beyond capital: as a pilot site / customer, by helping review and refine new products, and through our deep expertise in healthcare. We have a flexible mandate to deploy capital and can tap into our parent company’s core businesses, three hospitals, over 50 outpatient locations, and multiple joint ventures, as resources to help our portfolio companies build and grow.

Committed to Innovation

EEH’s executive team is leading efforts to build a patient-focused, digitally-enabled integrated health system that supports our core values of delivering Safe, Seamless, and Personal care.

We believe that identifying and supporting innovative early-stage technologies is one way of supporting this initiative, which is why EEH created our Innovation Steering Committee. The EEH Innovation Steering Committee consists of internal stakeholders from multiple areas that work together to evaluate and support the internal needs, infrastructure, and resources required to rapidly adopt and trial new technologies.
